A lovely pre-Christmas party with Longines

On 23 November, Luigi Verga Orologi welcomed customers and friends for a pre-Christmas party together with the prestigious Swiss brand Longines.

For the occasion, the location was decorated in the brand colours. A blue carpet with beautiful blue and white floral arrangements and an outdoor showcase customised with Longines creations embellished the entrance.

Hosting the event was Valeria Verga who, together with her team, welcomed the many guests in the comfortable interior space. In addition to the exquisite Christmas decorations creating a pleasant festive atmosphere, the venue was elegantly set up with showcases dedicated to the many masterpieces of the Winged Hourglass Maison, which celebrated its 190th anniversary this year.

Guests had the chance to admire not only the Maison's latest creations, but also some precious historical pieces coming directly from the Museum of Saint-Imier, Longines' hometown.

Dedicated showcases displayed models such as the new Ultra-Chron equipped with the Timelab-certified high-frequency movement, accompanied by its precursor Ultra-Chron Diver from 1968, the first Diver water-resistant to 200 metres equipped with a high-frequency movement, and its predecessor manufactured in 1967.

A stunning jewellery wristwatch from 1927, powered by a small shaped calibre, enriched the exhibition. This is precisely the model that inspired the current Longines DolceVita collection.

Other interesting proposals such as the Longines Spirit Zulu Time collection took us back in time with its ancestors such as the 1931 Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch and the 1927 Longines Weems pilot's watch with a rotating inner dial and synchronisation of the seconds hand to the radio signal.

And also the new Heritage Avigation Bigeye chronograph alongside an interesting 1913 monopusher chronograph similar to the model worn by pilot Amelia Earhart during her Atlantic crossing in 1932.

Between a drink and a chat, the attendees were able to discover interesting details about the range of contemporary proposals, the result of an exceptional historical heritage and know-how that the Maison has preserved, perpetuated and updated.

The evening was also enlivened by the chance to send a Longines postcard, selected from three different proposals, each with a different depiction and dedication. Chosen the most suitable for the loved person and personalised, the postcard was posted in the Longines Mailbox. A now-forgotten ritual that would become a pleasant surprise for the intended recipients!
